Tokyo street photo kings Keizo Motoda and Shinya Arimoto put what would become Totem Pole Photo Gallery into motion. They converted an old wood seller’s storage space into a proper gallery by hand. For the first few years it was called Lotus Root Gallery.
In addition to being an instructor of photography at Tokyo Visual Arts Motoda doesexhibitions and has several photobooks of his work out. You can see more of his photography on his portfolio site and blog.
