This is Dan’s second show at TPPG but his first as a new member of the gallery- his recent acceptance of a membership offer means we’ll be seeing a lot more of exhibitions of his work in Tokyo in the future.
This current one, comprised of shots taken on a summer trip by rail in Japan, is really good. He doesn’t work based on ideas for shows or even for the exhibitions themselves- rather he just has an honest interest in photography that involves a rare sense of true dedication to work part of it- an approach that would be cheapened if labeled with the blogger buzzword “passion” since it’s something almost unsettlingly deeper and always more interesting.
