Announcing part 2 of my Tokyo Photo Travel Guide series:
Each month I receive emails from people asking for suggestions of photo related places to check out when they visit Tokyo— so I’ve been compiling my own personal recommendations into casual guides that I hope will help anyone who might be interested. As far as camera shops go, you really don’t need to go anywhere other than West Shinjuku- especially if you are limited by time or family who may not want to spend all day traversing the capitol looking for obscure little shops when there is so much more to see in the city. This particular tour can be done in an hour, or as long as your wallet holds out. It also includes my favorite sushi shop and a bit of movie trivia.

Part 1: Jimbocho Photo Bookshop Walk
A re-blog of my Tokyo Camera Shop guide since I’ve been getting a few emails lately asking where to buy cameras in Japan- all you need can be found in West Shinjuku. If your browser can translate it, be sure to check out j-camera.net (an online searchable database of used camera shops all over Japan) to check prices before you buy. Have fun!
Another re-blog of my Tokyo camera shop guide- There are a lot of overseas visitors to Japan in Spring- indeed, I keep getting a steady stream of emails and Instagram comments asking where to buy film and gear in Tokyo- here you go!
Have fun and remember, life is short.
Get the gear you want, and use the gear you get.
