Caught the first of a two-part Robert Frank show at Gallery Bauhaus the other night- It’s an exhibition of prints from his Japanese-published book The Lines of My Hand.
The 600 yen admission fee is worth it- the prints/images are wonderful and they even have copies of some extremely rare Robert Frank books on hand as well to look (gently!) through: original (?) 1972 1st editions of The Lines of My Hand (marked down to 200,00 yen/$2000 from 300,000yen/$3,000) as well as a limited edition portfolio of some of Frank’s contact sheets from The Americans.
Chances to see Frank’s work up close and in such an intimate setting shouldn’t be missed.
