Two views of my friend Manuel’s vintage Fujica Mini-
This is a half-frame compact camera from 1964 originally marketed towards women- I believe the Japanese version has silver leather, while the export model is all black. It has a 25mm f2.8 lens that’s ringed by a selenium cell meter- this runs the auto-exposure function. Note that there’s no shutter speed dial or aperture markings- it’s purely an auto-exposure machine. The user sets the meter by moving an orange needle to one of four rhinestones on the top deck- each color designates a different film speed because in 1964, of course it does.
The camera is incredibly small and quite solid. Half frame cameras are great fun and often overlooked- the Fujica Mini is undoubtedly one of the most stylish ones produced.
