This is a screen grab of my iPhone photo library the evening I took the previously posted photo of this #CanonP on Instagram.
There’s almost 5,000 posts on the Tokyo Camera Style tumblr and 1,445 here on IG (tumblr shots are done with a Ricoh GRD and these here are all via iPhone). For me the challenge and fun of making a #CameraStyle pic is to take as interesting of a photo as possible utilizing the owners and location and moment, if possible. The context is important- and so are formal aspects. Every random foot or leg or bicycle in the backgrounds is part of the picture.
I could shoot everything on a white background but that’d be both boring and missing the point- it’s the people and places that count as much as the camera itself. I want to interest you with fun pictures of these functional yet personal items- it’s a celebration. Anyway, this should be as good if a place as any to thank everyone so far for their patience when I’m snapping away like this.
And yes I do get looks from people passing by…
