Late ‘60s Japanese bikers- - here’s some installation views of Bishin Jumonji(s show “Fujisaki” that was up at Superlabo until Oct. 24.
The series focuses on a youth named Fujisaki and his gang of bikers in the late 1960s- the pictures were taken before Jumonji went pro. Really great stuff- - new prints made by the photographer from the original now 50 year old negatives.
Super Labo published a book of the work- and a special edition with a signed silver gelatin 8x10 FB print. I like this idea of including original prints with photobooks. It’s popular lately- and it’s an affordable way to build a print (and photobook) collection. (Super Labo even has some Daido Moriyama prints/books- at prices that are honestly unimaginable anywhere else.)
