The August issue of Nippon Camera is out- The Tokyo Camera Style feature was shot in Golden-gai in Shinjuku, and myself and 29 other photographers are part of a multi-page feature entitled:
「忘れられない、忘れたくない、君しかいない。忘れたくないカメラベスト100」
or in English:
“I can’t forget you, I don’t want to forget you, you’re the only one. Top 100 unforgettable cameras."
We all sent in a list of our favorite cameras and wrote a paragraph about our number one. Mine, quite predictably, is this model. (Full list here later) From the photographer data the Nippon Camera staff tallied the results and listed 100 cameras in order of popularity. The number one (which actually didn’t make my list because I haven’t used it) wasn’t a Pentax, Canon, Leica, Olympus, or even a Nikon. It’s a Meduim Format camera, but not a Mamiya or Bronica nor a Hassleblad or a Rolleiflex. And it wasn’t anything from Fuji.
