Yesterday I picked up a mint straight-out-of-the-box brand new Konica Big Mini from my friend Colin who sourced it for me from a Konica camera dealer in my home state of Nebraska, of all places.
He apparently ended up cleaning out the rest of the inventory and since there was already a Big Mini F in the lot kindly offered me dibs on this HG model pictured above.
The Konica Big Mini took the number 3 spot in my contribution to a Top 5 Favorite Camera article in Nippon Camera last year. The lens has such character- especially with color film. I’ve been shooting Big Minis alongside Leicas since 2005. “Robust” isn’t a term I’d use to describe them though as they tend to wear out quicker than most. I’ve been through 6 or 7 so far but will be taking very good care of this one here.
